ICT LOCA set to host
ICT Community Roundtable on Wednesday, Jan. 30
ICT LOCA, the
association responsible for the advocacy, promotion and protection of interest
of local ICT Practitioners, enforcement and implementation of the NOGICD Act
and other local content policies of government on the use of and deployment of
indigenous information Communication Technology products and services in the
oil and gas and other sector of the Nigerian economy is set to host invited ICT
practitioners in Oil and Gas business tomorrow Wednesday, 30th
January, 2019 by 11:00am at the NIRA Secretariat, 8 Funsho Williams Avenue,
Surulere, Lagos State.
This was contained in a
release made available to newsmen by the Secretary to the Governing Board, Chief
Akinbo Adebunmi in Lagos yesterday.
According to Chief
Akinbo Adebunmi, “The Roundtable is organized to bring together stakeholders to
deliberate on ways indigenous ICT practitioners can benefit from these act and
policies put in place for the promotion of local ICT goods and services.”
“Our proposed ICT
Community Roundtable is strictly by invitation and for members and stakeholders
in the ICT industry to discuss challenges militating against ICT companies and
practitioners from benefiting from the local content laws and policies that is
put in place to promote the patronage of local ICT goods and services in the
oil and gas sector and other areas of Nigeria economy, Adebo added.”
The Roundtable with the
theme “ICT Local Content and the NOGICD Act: Dissecting Challenges and
Proffering Solutions” will afford members of the ICT Community to put together polices
that will deepen patronage of local ICT goods and services and would positively
have impact on their businesses.
Chief Akinbo Adebunmi
finally urged ICT Practitioners in the country to join ICT Loca and benefit
from the huge financial opportunities, connections and investment in Nigerian
Oil and Gas Industry.
